We are happy to announce a number of improvements to our Sanger sequencing services.
Secure on-campus sample submission
We now have a secure refrigerated drop-box on the main floor of the Pharmaceutical Sciences building. The box is located inside the Agronomy Road (Plaza) entrance, to the left of the stairs to the mezzanine. Most samples can be deposited without having to remove the lock (gently open the door and drop samples inside) but please contact us at sequencing.centre@ubc.ca or 604-827-0345 if you require the lock combination.
Expanded processing and next-day result deadlines
We are now processing Sanger samples five days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Submit your pre-mixed samples by 1pm using our new drop-box and receive your data the next business day. This new time is applicable to pre-mixed, and user-prepared samples only.
The deadline for next-day results for all other samples requiring preparation by SBC is 9:30am.
Webinar and new resources
We are hosting a webinar at 1pm on November 3 to help you understand everything from preparing and submitting your samples to reviewing your data in order to get the most from your Sanger sequencing.
We have also created an FAQ section on our website explaining how Sanger works and troubleshooting tips.
