Working with the NCBI Database
December 7, 2022, 3:00 pm
The National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) houses a series of biological databases where researchers can access a variety of tools and updated sequence data for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. This informational session will allow you to navigate the NCBI database and learn about the resources available to allow success in your research projects. This includes searching the database and downloading nucleotide, genomic, proteomic, and SRA data, understanding the different sequence data file formats and using its most popular tools such as BLAST and its variations.
