Upcoming workshops: Introduction to Linux Command Line & High-Performance Computing

The Sequencing and Bioinformatics Consortium, with the support of UBC’s Advanced Research Computing team, is pleased to offer a series of bioinformatics workshops designed to assist beginner and intermediate level attendees.  Specifically designed with graduate students in mind, our workshop series will complement existing training resources on campus and assist trainees in building competencies in computing and data analysis.

Our first workshops are now available for registration. The registration deadline for both workshops is 12 noon on Friday, May 14th, 2021.  Registration is expected to be competitive, and you will be informed of your successful registration on Tuesday May 18th, 2021.  A waitlist will be maintained, with additional sessions added in the near future.

Workshop 1: Introduction to the Linux Command Line
Tuesday, May 25th & Thursday, May 27th, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Workshop 2: Introduction to High-Performance Computing*
Monday, June 14th  & Thursday, June 17th, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
*Note that familiarity with Linux/UNIX is expected of attendees to this workshop.
